Marketing Specialist

Shepley Bulfinch, a national architecture firm with a staff of 200 across offices in Boston, Houston and Phoenix, is seeking a Marketing Specialist to join a dynamic team in the Marketing Department, based in Boston. We are looking for a team player who values relationships, has an entrepreneurial spirit, and who is motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the firm’s success.

The Marketing Specialist will be vital in developing materials to help the firm win new work. Successful candidates will be highly detail oriented, driven and inquisitive, quickly becoming knowledge experts in the firm’s markets, portfolio and people. He/she will enjoy working collaboratively under frequent deadlines, take a proactive approach to problem solving and will actively identify opportunities to elevate the work of the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with principals and project teams across offices as well as members of the marketing team to produce high quality proposals that promote the firm’s capabilities.
  • Writes and/or edits compelling narrative for proposals and award submissions, project profiles and bios.
  • Attentively reviews and analyzes RFP/Qs and participates in pursuit planning and strategy.
  • Assumes ownership of all proposal content, ensuring that information is communicated clearly, reflects defined strategy and aligns with the firm’s overall brand, including graphic and messaging guidelines.
  • Leads proposal meetings, including mock up sessions, and establishes timelines and assignments to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Employs quality assurance practices prior to team review and submission.
  • Tracks and develops award and survey submissions.
  • Maintains project information, resumes and other marketing collateral.
  • Works closely with other marketing team members to improve marketing processes and procedures.
  • Works with marketing team on special projects.
  • Opportunities for developing blog posts and social media content working with Communications Manager.
  • Performs other duties as requested by the Marketing Manager.

 

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a marketing position within the A/E/C industry.
  • Highly proficient in InDesign; Illustrator, Photoshop and PowerPoint a plus
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with Deltek and OpenAsset preferred
  • Understanding of concepts, practices and procedures in the design profession
  • BS/BA in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, Design, or Business is preferred
