Project Support
(Multiple states)
Full Time
Entry Level
Come build something with Shepley Bulfinch as a Project Support Team Member!
This position is one of two openings, with one offering a hybrid role based out of Shepley Bulfinch’s Durham, NC studio, and the second offering a remote role option, with preference being given to those who are in close proximity to one of the firm’s five studio locations (Boston, Durham, Hartford, Houston, and Phoenix). This role sits within the Administrative team and offers a unique opportunity to build a broad and transferable skill set while supporting the firm’s design work. Project Support team members collaborate with Project Managers and project teams to coordinate the many moving parts of design projects, varying in scale and complexity, while also working closely with the broader Admin team to support the entire firm. This firmwide support model allows team members to expand their knowledge beyond assigned projects, develop operational, communication, and problem-solving skills, and gain exposure to how the practice functions as a whole. Success in this role comes from a strong learning mindset, attention to detail, curiosity, and a commitment to building effective relationships both internally and externally.
Who We Are:
Shepley Bulfinch is a national architecture and design firm with studios in Boston, Durham, Hartford, Houston, and Phoenix. Founded in 1874, the firm has a notable legacy of challenging convention, pioneering visionary design ideas, and collaborating with clients who seek to drive measurable change.
How do you know if this role is right for you?
You enjoy being the organizational backbone of project teams and you thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments. You excel at managing project data, calendars, schedules, and documentation; coordinating internal and external meetings, travel, contracts, and presentations; and supporting teams from early planning through execution. You’re comfortable establishing and maintaining tools and standards that improve communication and workflow, tracking information across multiple projects, and prioritizing competing deadlines. You act as a key point of contact for internal and external partners, support project managers with schedules and workplans, maintain professional relationships, and share knowledge to help teams grow. You bring strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, a proactive work style, flexibility to adapt to change, respect for confidentiality, and the ability to manage priorities effectively. Most of all, you find satisfaction in being a reliable, behind-the-scenes partner who helps both individual teams and the broader firm succeed.
